Join us online for cup making at home with dark brown and gray clay.

The “Make This” series came about as an easy and fun way to engage in clay during a time when studio time and glazing is limited. The idea is you get to make an object similar to the image used to promote this class. We will have the same clay and it will be glazed in the same glaze. Stay tuned, we plan on having many more of these where people can explore all the various clays and new glazes that we offer.

This class takes place on Saturday July 1th at 10am until 11am. Students who register will pickup their clay and materials at the studio and attend the class at home on their computers using zoom. After making their creation, students can drop off their work at the studio where the work will be fired and glazed for them. Students then pick up their food safe item ready to use at home!

Class price includes one fired work, two small chunks of two different clay bodies, slip, plastic sheet, newspaper, cheese slicer, and rubber band. Additional pieces can be fired but will be subject to firing fees.

Materials list. Please have the following for class:

Work surface that slabs will not stick on (plastic or canvas works or a porous one such as unfinished wood)
Straight-sided cylinder or bottle to use as an armature (we make the cup on top of these
Rolling pin or bottle to roll out slabs
Cutting tool (needle tool or knife or similar item to slice clay)
Paintbrush (for closing up the seams or painting slip)
