$625.00

Kids summer camp at mouse is super cool and a way for kids to learn what its like to work with clay in an artistic expressive way that goes beyond just decorating. In Mouse Ceramic Studio’s summer camp, kids will take part in using casting molds, throwing on the pottery wheel, and handbuilding with coil, and slab making methods.

Ages 6 to 11

Please note, summer camp 2021 takes place in our annex space at 771 Coney Island Avenue which is a few blocks south of the main studio (see photo). This space is a dedicated space, large and well-lit and perfect for kids to get their hands in mud.

All kids Summer Camps take place from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday and cover handbuilding, wheel, using casting molds, decorating, and glazing. Students will be offered projects and demos or can work on their own project. Materials and firing fees are included.
There is a 10 kid maximum per week spaced out in our large annex space at 771 Coney Island Ave.
Due to COVID protocols, we will eat lunch outdoors (weather permitting), and students must bring their own lunch with their name clearly labeled on any items that need to be refrigerated. Masks will be worn at all times while indoors.

$625 Monday - Friday 9am-4pm

8:30am drop off $50 extra

6pm pick up $150 extra

We do not prorate or offer one day options as the camp builds day by day.

We begin the day with wheel throwing and then clean up. There is an hour long break (or more as needed by the group) from 12-1 or 1-2 where we will walk to Mouse Ceramic Studio at 1012 Beverley Road and have lunch in the backyard space. They can also run around here. We may also go on trips to the studio for materials as needed, a good way to break up the day and keep the group active and stretched.

Each day will be divided into “subjects” these are Handbuilding (1-2 hours), Wheel (1-2 hours), nerikomi (1-2 hours), and decorating (30m-1 hour). This format allows the individual to create work one day, trim and decorate it the next, and glaze it before the week ends. Most work will be ready for pickup a week or two after camp ends, one work will be able to go home by Friday of the week. Please email us at mouseceramicstudio@gmail.com if you have any additional questions.
