Sign up for this Monday morning clay class with Pedro Ramirez of Zerimar Clay.
This is an 8 week beginner wheel class. This class is taught for complete beginners, so no experience is necessary. As a fun side, we will have the chance to decorate with underglazes and underglaze decals after trimming.
8 week plan:
Beginning Wheel
Basics - Introduction to clay and how to throw cylindrical forms
Trimming - flat bottom. Throwing a bowl.
Trimming - foot. Plates, handles.
Decorating Pottery, Decals and underglazes and overlapping them
Glazing 101 basic dip
Last throwing day - How to make a lid.
Trimming and finishing - Decals and Underglazes available.
Glazing 102 - Dip, Pour, Overlap, Brush, Spray, tape resist w/color
Current students must have their own clay, please purchase white stoneware or porcelain for this class. We will send notification when it is time to purchase for the upcoming session. Your clay will be at the studio on your first day of class. You can also purchase tool kits on the website.
Each student will get up to two 2.5 hour time slots of open studio each week.
Class meets Mondays at 9am on:
