During this 3 week course Ian will encourage students to expand their definition of what serves as a teapot and the elements that compose the form.

The first week will be an introduction to forms, galleries, lids, spouts and the anatomy of a teapot.

The second week will center around handle types, trimming & assembling that will lead into a discussion about function, proportion and composition.

The third week will be glazing. There are certain difficulties when glazing teapots, Ian will help students with best practices for glazing this unique ceramic form.

This is an intermediate to advanced workshop.
