Ceramic Hydro-dipping - March 8th, 15th and 22nd - 1 to 3pm
Join Siri Burt for this three week hydro-dipping workshop! Hydro-dipping also known as water transfer printing is a method of applying printed designs onto a surface which could be metal, plastic, glass, hardwood or ceramics! This workshop is for beginners to advanced participants.
In this 3 week workshop students will learn the process of hydro dipping on ceramics from beginning to end.
-The first class will be an overview of the workshop as well as a demonstration on how to hand-build tiles or tablets for your printed image, you will then hand-build your ceramic piece. Your work will be roughly 4” x 6”.
-During the second class you will glaze your work. Siri will then give the demonstration on hydro dipping so you are prepared for the process in the final portion of the workshop. She will go over how to choose the best images for printing. After the second class you will send your photo file to her before the next class. You can make two pieces so choose two photos.
-The final class of this workshop will be the actual hydro dipping!
Siri Burt is a photographer and ceramicist with an interest in questioning the established meaning and stories behind visual symbolism, specifically relating to the body, and how she can transform them into her own mythology.
