Wheel - Beginner Friendly - Wednesday 7-9:30pm
Sign up for Wednesday night wheel with Pedro Ramirez.
This is an 8 week throwing class using the potter’s wheel.
Welcome to Wednesday night wheel. In this class your instructor will guide you through the stages of making things on the wheel, drying them out, sticking them together or adding parts, trimming, decorating and finishing them, getting them fired, glazing them and firing them again, and perhaps even a third time with a little gold accent. You will also be shown some minimal clay staining and marbling techniques cause its fun.
The class is beginner “friendly” because all levels are welcome but the class demonstrations will start with the basics (clay 101), and advance from there depending on the skill level of the class as a whole and the varying needs of individual students.
This class is mask-optional and snack potluck every week is encouraged!
Current students must have their own clay, we will send notification when it is time to purchase for the upcoming session. Your clay will be at the studio on your first day of class. All clays except sculpture and terra cotta are appropriate for wheel work. You can also purchase tool kits on the website.
Each student will get up to two 2.5 hour time slots of open studio each week.
Class meets Wednesdays at 7pm on:
9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26
Due to the economic impact of Covid 19 on small businesses giving refunds is not possible right now. Please only register if you are most certain you will be able to take this class.
